Sometimes it takes a little effort to make your house a home, but with a little creativity, you can achieve anything. I’m Paula Marks, and I’m the founder of Hali Boho Co. We hand-pick beautiful homewares and creations that help you love your home (as much as I love mine).
Over the years, we have grown into a wide range of beautiful homewares to warm the soul and inspire you to live your best, beach-inspired life.
So how did this start?
As a child, creating beautiful things to uplift our humble home was my passion. There was something about brightening up spaces that really lit me up.
We didn’t have a lot of money so I found ways to make things more pretty or creative. I would handmake photo frames out of cardboard, scraps of timber and pieces of colourful fabric. I would gift these frames to family and friends.
As the years grew, I turned my love of creative homewares into more ventures like sewing, crotchet, painting. Retail really changed things up for me. Over one decade of working in retail, merchandising and colour-blocking became an obsession and helped me open up the potential of my creativity.
Why creativity?
I think we all have creativity inside us, and we all need nurturing around our passions. And that’s why I’m here, to help you nurture yours. There’s a quote by Brené Brown that has always inspired me: “The only unique contribution that we will ever make in this world will be born of our creativity.”
In the last few years, I’ve honed my creative passions and merchandising expertise into something that can serve others – from my heart to yours.
Meet Hali Boho Co.
Meet Hali Boho Co, my beach-inspired boho homewares store, a tribute to my beautiful late mother who inspired all my passions right from the start. The beach was her muse. My mother would pile us kids on the train and take us to the sprawling beaches and the Sydney Botanic Gardens. We didn’t have much money to make our home too fancy, but over the years I have made it my mission to bring all those tender memories of beach days with my mother into my own dream space.
I can’t wait to have you over: for you to immerse in the summery scents of the beach as you walk in to my foyer that burns tropical melts. I’d love to show you the beach-inspired homewares, timber mirrors, handmade photo frames, glorious kimonos, candles, wind chimes, beach towels, and all things that make you want to curl up with a book all afternoon – rain or shine, your home can be your dream destination.
